I like the idea of your game, css is a good idea to make the pages look nice. I think some character portraits wouldnt be the worst thing in the world to add. Some of the best browser games use pictures to complement the text. Characters growing according to what they do is also good because there are people who play and pick a class and then cant go back. Classless gameplay is fun.
First issue i have is that i dont know how to get rid of a party member i hired called Hire_Member. You should add a change name function to the alpha and a function to delete a hired character.
