What made me like anime is going to school every day and getting beat up and made fun of because I liked it. That was soooo fun xD!!

    You? Beat up?! LMAO!

    That's a horrible joke, PG.

OT: Dragon Ball Z did it for me, as well. Eventually, I started watching other animes on the Toonami afternoon line-up and it went from there.

dragonball z did it for me.......funny because i made fun of dbz the first time i saw it (first episode i saw was a filler) so i thought it was crap then a friend showed me a pic of a battle then i saw the episode and it blew my mind so then i just watched it from there...but still its very rare for me to watch a complete anime i get lazy midway with most...only one i saw every episode of was dbz, dbgt, full metal alchemist...the others just had too many episodes and they wont stop either lol

First anime that I've actually watched was the Tenchi Muyo series on Toonami, albeit very censored, and left a lot unexplained (you need to read outside the TV show to figure it all out) it still sucked me in.

During a summer vacation trip to Korea during my elementary school times, I found Ghost Stories, Cooking Master Boy, and a non-censored, but child-friendly version of Crayon Shin-Chan, which I still have DVDs of.

After returning to the US, I just started noticing the art styles of what I watched and started watching what was similar to what I watched in Korea.
