Oh yeah, I forgot to add something:
America isn't a continent, but rather a landmass divided into two continents: North America and South America. So if you were born in Mexico, you'd be a Mexican, but if you wanted to go by your regionality rather than nationality, you'd be a North American.
I suggest you pay attention in geography class.

If you take some time to enjoy the beauty of the states, it's a completely different experience. Sure, looking at statistics or speaking of politics we're not the greatest nation on the planet anymore. If we ever were, those times are long gone. However, if you enjoy the life of an average American, go outside and interact with real people instead of cynical forum members and those who can't be pleased, you can get a feel for what it's really like. Go out, spend a day seeing the sites, enjoying the food, and getting to know some unique people, and you can see why so many people are willing to die for this place.
Take it to forums though, and suddenly America is a festering shit-hole who's citizens are unworthy of the freedoms they waste day-to-day.
