    Default Sports and the Olmypics

Anyone else think some of these sports like Sync swimming, trampoline, rhythmic gymnastic, and more shouldn't be part of the Olympic sport? This is kinda ridiculous, next thing you know they will add chess at the Olympic as a sport.

wtf, trampoline and rhtythmic gymnastics are hard as hell and requires real good body control. I don't see why these are less deserving of an olympic spot than say regular gymnastics of various forms and things such as horsback riding...

When golf somehow gets to have the title of "sport", I would say that the various forms of gymnastics are worthy of being in the olympics...

The only thing that shouldn't be in the olympics is: Equestrian

This isn't the horse olympics people. There is even a guy that was profiled on tv as his 9th olympics.... which makes him like a minimum of 52 years old... more like 65 by the looks of it.

I can't even express my hate towards this being in the olympics.

Just because it may not be critically acclaimed in the US doesn't mean it isn't in other places. For example, people over in china suprisingly can register dives as good or not. All we can tell is if the splash is big or not. They know all how to tuck and all that crap. But just because we don't think it's deserving doesn't mean others don't think it does. I'm sure people in the middle of Africa don't consider beach volleyball a sport. There's not much of a beach there but yet it's in the olympics.

A sport can be considering something you challenge other people to.
so they are sports in a certain sense of term, specially within the olympics..

and all of the "sports" you listed, are very challenging.
there in the olympics because they are very competative.
you may not consider it sport. but others do.
and i personally rekon they are sports. within olympic terms anyway.
if you don't like the sport. dont watch it.

you guys need to be more open to the idea that not everything with the label "sport"
contains balls or people racing each other lol..

A sport to me is defined as: where you face an opponent in a game and it takes a rather physical challenge to compete.

All the sports you mentioned adhere to your definition....considering the Olympics is a HUGE competition where countries compete against each other.

Sorry by facing i guess i should of been a bit more thorough. I meant as in directly facing in that time period where you do something physically. The sports i mentioned above don't do that.

    Your examples suck.

Try speed walking, now that should be taken out of the Olympics.

Olympics are more about testing the boundaries of human abilities or excellence if you will. Striving to be better and all that.

That is why, even though I hate beach volleyball... I don't mind it being in the olympics.

But.. as I said before.. equestrian doesn't test shit. You can duct tape a corpse onto a fantastic horse and it will win. **** that shit I say!

speedwalking is hilarious when they get disqualified for taking their feet off the ground and 'running'.

By the time you get to the olympics you should know how to do you own sport. rofl

I never said it was easy, just that a 'pr0' shouldn't **** up like that. It's one thing to do it once, but don't they need to get like 3 **** ups to be dq'd? That's a lotta mistakes for a pr0.

Almost like running a marathon and halfway through you decide to take a cab to the finish line.
    :P

(well not quite, but still... its funny when pr0's suck)

    lol

Well first you put one foot in front of the other but slowly not to slowly just right. Its just powerwalking not hard really but walking shouldn't be a sport.

Why not? Their walk is probably as fast, or faster than most people's running.

Either way, it test their endurance, will power, etc. All good criterias for being an olympic event.

Don't let the word 'walk' fool you.

I think it's stupid, their trying to win a race, be the first one to finish. Yet they can't go too fast or you're not doing it right.

Makes no sense to me. Just run a damn marathon.

Technique and such can allow you to go faster. As can your physical endurance, etc.

So they can go faster so long as their technique and such is withing the rules.

Most people can't run a 5:30 mile. Now if you can seriously walk it, then maybe you should go to the next olympic trials....

Uh no, pretty much anyone can run faster than they walk.

But everything else you said is right.
