so tomorrow is my first (and hopefully last time) going to court. Now before you all start thinking i'm some troubled teen, i'll tell you what happened. Back in march break,a friend and i got confronted and mugged by 2 24 year old males, and i lost about $50. Apparently they had a gun too. So anyway, the one guy ended up pleading guilty but the other guy says he didn't do it. So tomorrow i have to go into court and i'm not very excited. Has anyone ever been to court and can explain to me the procedure so i can maybe rest a bit easier tonight?

Going to court is never easy. I guess that procedure depends on where you are going, I suppose you're going to something equivelant to a crown court that we have over here. Just keep yourself calm, and don't let yourself get intimidated by any of the lawyers, and you'll do fine
You basically wait in a seperate room until you are called, someone will be out to fetch you, then you go into the court room (since he had a gun and could be dangerous, the criminal guy will probably be behind very tough glass or out of any kind of reach), and just answer any of the lawyers questions (that you are allowed to answer anyway).
I haven't personally been to court, but my brother has. He paid some guy several thousand dollars to make some modifications to his car, (paint job, aftermarket part installation, etc.) and the guy basically took the money and didn't do a thing to it after a year. So my brother went to the guys house and took the car back and is now taking that guy to court.
It hasn't happened yet, but from what I've heard my brother has a good case.
i just really hope they don't ask me to recall the whole incident, being as it was way back in march..they told me i wouldn't have to go to court so i forgot about it and then like a month ago they called me in
Are you scared, that if this criminal goes behind bars for armed robbery, after he gets his freedom back, he'll hunt you down and murder you for putting him behind bars in the first place?
Relax, that kind of stuff only happens in TV shows. :P
lol honestly i'm not, because after talking to cousins and stuff apparently they're just small time crooks and my cousins apparently used to beat the shit out of them on a dail basis lol..if anything the court room is what intimidates me
I think you should ask your lawyer what to expect. He can give you professional advice on how to handle the pressure, what things to say and not to say, etc, etc,
