Unfortunately it will be p2p, but you shouhld be able to play the beta for free until it goes retail.
Regarding the graphics, the Medium setting was used to film the computers in Fraps (officially stated). Since the game is being independently developed, I guess their computers probably aren't insane and when recording with Fraps they probably couldnt use High.
ok i guess i should explain about this game since people don't seem to know about it on these boards. The actual gameplay of this mmo is amazing, if not revolutionary. It eliminates level grinding and limits of the cliche mmos like aoc or wow. it has over 500 individual skills which your character can learn and improve such as blacksmithy, magic, whatever. Characters do not have base levels that affect their hp, damage, stats, etc. Gameplay is also focused largely on the actual players skills, as you might see in a fighting or fps game. Real-time battles with active attacking and defending. Guilds can control Towns and even BUILD their own buildings in the TOWNS. Buildings and certain areas are DESTRUCTIBLE. Players can have PLAYER HOUSING. This game has been extremely hyped for the past 8 years by the pvp community also because it is one of the very few games to feature open pvp, and full corpse looting, and battles that are actually based on the abilities of the player rather than statistics. It also has naval warfare on ships.
Sure, to get all these insane features they had to sacrifice time spent on graphics and animations but
in terms of gameplay and features this game will probably be superior to Wow, Aoc, and proabably even WAR. Although due to the lack of pvp-fans the playerbase of this game will of course not be as high as pve-focused games like the mainstream mmos, but i see it easily reaching at least 100k subscribers once it comes out, and if it gets good reviews and whatnot, i wouldnt be surprised if it got hundreds of thousands of subscribers.
Also, as mentioned earlier, this game uses a "skill system" instead of "class system". In other words, you create your own class by choosing what skills to learn from a list of over 500 skills (similar to Mabinogi and Ultima Online, for those of you familiar with those games). Characters will be very unique.
Also this game might actually have among the largest worlds in MMO games. It is supposed to take 8 hours to run from one end of the world to the other end.
here are some screenshots (most likely hi res since its a screenshot rather than video):
