Well, I used to work at a grocery store and that song was part of the regular playlist so when I got "rick rolled" it was more of an inside joke to me. Despite this, I can tell you some dislike Rick Astley and his song: Never Gonna Give You Up because of the controversy of him being allegedly gay.

I personally don't care, and i've heard worse. But a lot of people just do not like that song in general. I've also heard most of this originate from the World of Warcraft community. Both on forums, and in-game. The term roll is to start a new character to them. Probably explains the roll part. As for the Rick part, when some are tricked into listening to his material, they get get a quick glimpse despite thier dismay and thus the term rick rolled.

I found this video funny. It's about some dude ranting on how RickRoll'ing is stupid and how all the other memes are "killing the internet". He goes batshit at the end and it all just makes him seem like a dork.

Personally I think the whole RickRoll'ing this is a bit dumb, but some of my friends do it from time to time, so I tolerate it.

She eventually ended up with Quagmire instead, so Peter spends the remainder of the episode trying to win her back. After succeeding, Brian sings that song to everyone at the school dance or whatever. (Guess how many Family Guy related t-shirts I own. ZERO.)
