I'm pretty sure that the only difference between the e8500 and the e8400 is .16ghz and .5 multiplier, so you really won't see much of a difference between those two. You might not even see much of a difference between the e8500 and your cpu right now, which I believe is a e6400. Your video card will tend to be the bottleneck in more intense gaming.

You don't have to waste money to buy a CPU you know, Intel core's are great for overclocking, have you tried that? Ignore all the idiots saying "LOLOLOLOLOL OVER CLOCKING = 99% CHANCE OF BREAK J00 COMPUTER LOLOLOLOL" Overclocking is unbelievably easy, what kind of cooling do you have for it?

true yet dont go overclocking by too much at one time or else that 99% break thingie becomes a fact

if youre new go search a overclocking forums and get help there

on a sidenote; warranty will be void if you overclock (and burn your cpu)

Yeah, over clocking is unbelievably easy if you take it slow, just raise by 5-20 MHZ increments until your CPU can't take it anymore. Just get orthos or OCCT. Other than that, over clocking is ezpz as eating cake.

    I got this 1,

    Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Extreme CPU X9650 @ 3.00GHz (4 CPUs), ~3.0GHz

Got it for nothing so I really don't know the price.
But it gave my computer a big boost.
