    Question ArchLord or Requiem? (POLL)

Hey guys, new here but I've found that this forum is full of great information and great posters. I'm very impressed with the database of free games as well as the number of users active on the forum and number of threads about different free MMO's.

    I have a dilemma:
Should I choose to download and try out ArchLord or Requiem? Both games look pretty cool to me, but I'm not sure which to try. The reason I ask is that both downloads are over 1 GB so they won't exactly take a "few minutes" to download . . more like 1+ hours for me, so I want to spend my time wisely while I still have it.

Also, if these two titles aren't that great, is there another particularly good free MMO/MMORPG that I should try?

I'm fairly new to the MMORPG scene. Not that it's new to me, but I haven't spent much time with the genre. I was a World of Warcraft subscriber for a few months a year or two ago, but never played a whole lot due to school work. I'm sort of in the same situation now, but I want to try a free MMO just to get me back into the groove.

Please vote in the poll below and, if you don't mind, provide more specific feedback with a reply so that I'll know for sure what to do. Recommendations from those with experience is most helpful!

    Thanks,
    Chubz

1+ hours? Lucky. Try 8+ on my connection.

But anyways, I'd have to say Requiem. I don't like either, but Archlord was just a boring grindfest that was more of the same. Requiem was cool, but there was a lot of stuff that was broken, which I bet most of it has been taken care of by now. Even though it was kind of a boring grind as well, but it had some instance-type dungeons and I enjoyed watching body parts fly into the air. :]

As much as I enjoyed Archlord, I gotta choose Requiem.

But if you want to PvP, Requiem will make your blood boil. Huge class inbalances.

Try it out, if your not a hardcore grinder, you'll be able to play it for a long time before you reach the dead end of its content.

Damn, several replies already! You guys are great!

Thanks for the suggestions . . sounds like Requiem is the best option for me. Going to go ahead and start up the download right now. Thanks again, and if anyone else has suggestions, don't fret from posting - I'm always open to new suggestions as well.

Get used to it, onrpg is a f*cking active place

You should either try LaTale, which is pretty good and has PvP, or SOTNW. SOTNW Is pretty fun, and you get to control 3 characters at once, so it takes a lot of skill in PvP, there are also raids and instances, and dungeons which you can train in. There are also a good amount of quests, good graphics, F2P, no freaking over powered cash shop, and ****ing 1337 sound track. There are also trolls and shit here, they can be funny, and also idiots, alright? Although most of the people here are pretty cool.

Isn't that game like 3-4GB though? (SOTNW)
That's the main thing that stops me from playing it right now, I'm considering buying the CD version of it. :s

Well I'm playing Archlord right now and never played Requiem. From what you just said, Archlord is not right for you. Everyone only try to reach high level to do sieging which is PvP. Actually, this whole game is PvP related. There are cool armors but a lot of low level armors are better because in this game, defense means nothing in high level. It's very easy to get a party in this game because they only party for auto loot =D But its not team work party, its solo party.

Everything in the Auction house is inflated. You're gonna have trouble getting armors. Weapons are super cheap compared to armors because unlike other games, defense is everything if you want to PvE. Because the only fast way to level is AoE and they need all the defense they can get.

    Go with Requiem.

Seriously I vote neither of those two.

As a F2P I would suggest Ryzom. It's different and has some potential compared to the other grindy F2Ps.

Another point for Ryzom : the community is great and helpful (as long as you dont spam them about how to jump lol^^).

Probably saw it at a store and was like "OMG THIS LOOKS AWESOME!" and bought it and played it, just to find out how shitty it was.

It did look pretty nifty from the retail box, along with RF Online, (which, whaddya know, that went F2P too! Codemasters FTL) but I knew better. Most people probably picked it up then, seeing it and not hearing about it previously.
