Default So I just watched Dr. Phil and...

What are yours stances on the N word?

I think that it should be all or nothing. Either everyone can say it(nonracistly of course) or everybody doesnt say it. Its double standard and hypocritical to allow only one race to say something.

and dont say anything about you can say it, you cant, or youll be labeled racist/get the crap beat out of you.

I think it's O.K. to say it as much as you want, as long as no one else is there to hear it. It's also O.K. to yell it out at a Black person walking down the sidewalk in front of your house from your window, then duck down quickly afterwards.

You can never prevent people from chosing whether they would say it or not. Personally, the 'N' controversy should just stop once and for all.

Yes, I know slaves were called that, but if I remember correctly Slavery ended about a century or so ago? EXACTLY. Everyone then would had been dead by now.

I get sick to my stomach when a person get payed for their 'emotional damage' due to being call the 'N' word.

What about *****,Cracker, or Even *******? I don't ever see anyone get pay for being calling that.

Basically whoever get pay in a lawsuit from being call the 'N' word is selling out their own moral.

I say it all the time, but never with any racial meaning. It's hard not to if you've grown up with it being so common as I have. My internal voice even uses it. My overly tan friends call me that, I call them that. Never had any beef, but they know I'm not racist either. Though, a lot of people have been conditioned to start fighting as soon as the hear it. Telling them to suddenly accept it is a bit too optimistic. I use it as any other word with negative connotation; If I don't know you, I'm not going to call you a mother ****er (or any other word) unless I'm ready to start some shit.

Calling someone you don't know, or don't have that kind of relationship with, a ****** or anything else is risky at best. Chances are, you'll get your asked kicked.

I think people shouldn't watch crap like that on TV.

That's my stance on this subject.

I love history, I live my life by what my ancestors did, I think of what they were like etc, so because of history, I've come to the conclusion that the word ****** should not be used, by either blacks or whites, or anyone of any race, because it goes back in history and brings up an awful period in time where, most likely, all African-Canadian/African-American's ancestors were in fact slaves, of course unless they actually came from Africa/Caribbean/etc.

Either way, I believe that its not okay to use the word ******. It's a hurtful word, and if your black and don't believe so, come talk to the blacks in my school. One girl, Teniel, cried when someone called her one. That just goes to show how hurtful it really is.

But between whites, racism is a joke haha. When people call me cracker/wop/whatever, I'm like **** YEAH! WHITE POWER! and laugh it off, because it doesn't really mean anything? What the hell is cracker? And wop comes from the Italian word guappo (sp?) which means "gangsters" which is what they used to call each other in America (contrary to popular belief that it means Without Legal Papers).
    Either way, meaningless.
