I didn't bother to read that link, but heres my 2 cents.
I've broken glow sticks in the past and they don't really stain clothes. I did it at a friends party and it doesn't stain or burn unless you get it in your mouth or eyes.

I went to a party where everyone had glow in the dark paint all over them, and had the glow sticks around they're neck and wrists. This Foreign techno was playing, with the most INTENSE beat I've heard in my life.
My advice - Go to a rave after homecoming

Nothing beats an illegal rave in some random train-tunnel.
