rohan. to any1 who said that it's not grindy.... wow i dunno what u were on while playing it.. but its the most grindy game ive ever played, and im saying this after having played games like sro(also at the top of the grinds), flyff, rappelz, maplestory.

even when there are one-time-quests and repeatables to give u that extra boost in exp now and then, the quests themselves are incredibly grindy. its also the reason why over 50% of the population has to resort to bots, hacking, and buying pre-leveled characters in the exchange market.

i forgot about rappelz! that might take MS's place. after all I could make it to 45 on MS before I quit. The grind was so bad on rappelz that I quit soon after getting off tutorial island.

Oh, I just remembered the most grindiest game ever..

    FF11 (Online, duh.)

This is why -- they made a new patch that you can optionally DL (I think its optional) and you fight a "secret" boss. A guild attempted that boss, and never beat the boss. The fight was over 12 hours they had to stop the fight people were falling asleep at there comps and they became pyhsically ill, just lost all the will in there bodies to move, they passed out techincally.

(If that counts as grind) Google it if you dont believe me.

Edit: Found it http://petfoodalpha.com/?p=1055 also it was 18 hours long not 12. My bad.

    Edit2: I win.

If you think .01 %/kill is a grind, you don't know what grind means.

Lol **** 18 hours = you get aids? Didn't you have to wait 25 hours for a party in ffxi? I did.

Beyond the limitation isn't even at the limitation.

i think deicide wins it had no quests last time i checked and also sro should win with get 200X and a drop rate of 1:1000 and 0.00001 exp per kill it wins by far.

i'm thinking games that dont have a numerical player level, like counter strike
once you've reached a certain level, no matter how long you play and how hard you try, some people are still gonna own you

grind for me is kinda complicated. for example a game i enjoy but get 0.01% exp in i wont call grindy as fast as a boring game where i get 0.01% =p it really depends on gameplay, graphics, leveling speed alltogether for me. (and the amount of time till i feel like 'hmm i dont want to kill this monster anymore')

In iRO my brother could get to 99 non-transcendent in less than a week because he has a full time High Priestess friend. So iRO isn't that grindy. Until you hit level 90 transcendent of course but you'll still get 0.1 in Lighthalzen at 98 which is a lot.

To get back on topic, I would say SRO. Next stop, MapleStory. Then Archlord.

Grinding in Tony Hawk's Pro Skater is pretty awesome.

I would have to say that the king of grind is MS. If a game makes me quit because of grind, something has gone horribly wrong.

Can you honestly say you wont fall asleep if you started at the SAME scenary HAD to be at your comp for 18 hours straight, fighting the SAME mob using the SAME tactics? Yeah..Thats what I thought.

    Oh noes, a wikipedia article.

    The article says:

Grinding is a term used in computer gaming to describe the process of engaging in repetitive and/or non-entertaining gameplay in order to gain access to other features within the game.[1] The most common usage is in the context of MMORPGs and JRPGs, most often Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest, in which it is often necessary for a character to repeatedly kill AI-controlled monsters, using basically the same strategy over and over again, in order to advance their character level to be able to access newer content. Grinding can also appear in other games in which features can be unlocked

I don't think an optional boss on an online game you chose to play and fight on counts as that. It's optional, should have stopped right there.

Honestly, I wouldn't bother to grind my way up to 99, in Diablo2. I mean........for what?! It's a ****ing singleplayer game. Is there even any content at 99 or is it just4zelulz? At what level is the End Boss?
