So, yea... for the average car, a Honda or VW have exceptional reliability and lifespan.

North American cars don't really cut it. Take Dodge for instance. I have had 2 so far, and both suffered from the same problem. Automatic transmission dies quickly, gas tanks rust out, air conditioning breaks almost instantly, etc. My Jeep Cherokee was a nightmare. Just about every part in it failed epically. I will never buy a Dodge/Chrysler/Jeep again!!!!!
I don't drive for the simple reason that owning a car in Central London is the same as taking a load of your own cash, pissing on it, and then using it to plug a leak.

Though Skoda is notorious for being a laughable brand of automobile. So much so that they use self-deprecating humour in their ads.
