Default Are Free MMORPG Players More Social?

It's kinda funny how forums have different personalities. I have been participating over here on OnRPG for a couple weeks and I still don't have a strong feeling for it. Seems like you all want free games, but then mostly you complain about free games, some of you play but hate free games... So my new theory is that you are mostly Bartle socializers here and that's why I am having a hard time getting to know you. Because you see, I am a Bartle killer.

In case you are unfamiliar with the Bartle Test of Gamer Psychology is a series of questions and an accompanying scoring formula developed by, you guessed it, Richard Bartle. The test determines if you are a Killer, Socializer, Explorer or Achiever personality.

It was organized into its first electronic form in 1996 by Erwin Andreasen who ran it on his personal site as a labor of love for gamers. After running for ten years and over 200k or accumulated results, the database executed itself and died. After several months, the test was ported and moved to GamerDNA.com on a promise to keep it forever free. All the original test data was preserved there with only a couple changes in language such as turning MUD to MMORPG. This month the number of people who have taken the Bartle will surpass half a million!

If you want to take the Bartle it's here. It's free. No registration required unless you want the sig.

The idea is to vote. Then take the test and post your results. After awhile we'll see what there are most of and if people predicted correctly. Bartle doesn't have a player hater category so I am betting socializer is the most common.

Dude theres only 2 answers to each question, that right there should tell you this test isn't anywhere even close to accurate.

Lately in some games I'm more of the solo explorer type, I don't often talk unless the moment comes up. That doesn't make me anti-social, I'm just a humble and content person. When saying 'hello' to some people they somehow get annoyed for some reason, and burst into flames =/ so I just move on.

Most people playing free games are little kids that have no money of their own yet and can't get a CC from mom/dad or if adults, they are sad individuals that just have no job or way of income and can't afford pay games. They will lie and say P2P games suck, but they have never played one and are just jealous others can.

Some people that play free games, play them on the side just play to see whats new and don't take them seriously. Its juts something to play a couple hours when not playing their main pay games.

Most people that play these F2P games quit every game within 1 week. They look for cheats and glitches and once they cannot do them or get caught or the game gets a little hard, they give up. They could never survive in a pay game where gamers with skill play.

F2P gamers are the most ignorant gamers around on average, there are many good smart gamers here, but the idiots outnumber them by a longshot.

I just noticed that this is the very same guy, who created that how-to-create-a-guild-forum and referred to gamerNDA. This is basically the same. Isn't it illegal here?

Well,I know were your coming from, but that is a bit of a generalization.

I had play countless F2P games before i started paying for WoW(Best game i have ever played)and I have not once gotten bored of it,I actually enjoy playing it instead of having to force myself to play F2P games like in the past.

most people who have played F2P games and have NEVER played a P2P or B2P game usually don't know what a good MMORPG is.

Meh I dont know what you are all complaining about, i enjoyed the test. I got 'Achiever', and that describes me to a T. I personally love the site they are hosting as well, I will deffinatly be using it.

At least they dont just blantantly advertise, they are giving us something to do and contributing to the forum.

that's a huge generalization there, like lawliet I've played TONS of f2p games, but there's no doubt a P2P game it's ten times better and after playing the likes of EQ2, WoW, LOTRO, DDO, GW, CoH/V, I can't seriously stand F2P games and their mediocre gameplay, development and form of marketing

I don't stand F2P games at all, in your analogy you say I couldn't survive in a P2P game because I can't stand F2P's but that doesn't mean I don't have a S3 shaman in WoW and T6 parts along with a good time of raiding gametime, that's the living proof that statement it's just false

anyway, to be on topic, I'm a killer, always a killer, forever a killer
