    Default DIY digital frame

I have thought about buying a digital frame. I wanted atleast a 12 inch screen on it, but when I looked at the prices they were $170 USD and up.

So I decided to make my own!

Now I made my decision to use a laptop, but I didn't want to use my newer laptop, even if I rarely ever use it anymore becuase of my desktop.

So I bought an old, old ( did I mention old) laptop from ebay for around 50 bucks.

It was the Toshiba Tecra 550CDT (some of you forum members were toddlers when this was released)

I might upgrade a little bit, but it should do already what I want.

I bought a shadowbox from an art store that would fit my laptop size. I also bought some hardware to lay my laptop base and screen on and hold them together.

I will post photos of my digital frame once I finish it. The amount of money I spent was probably around $120 USD with all the parts and extras

Now you don't have to be a big tech person to make one so if you had the urge to ever buy a digital frame just make one yourself.

They have youtube videos of people also making their own.

    Here is one for example.
