So there is this korean foreign exchange student in my school he has been here for a little bit but already he has learned how to call thing he doesn't like gay and call people names that are hurtful to others like fags and niggers. When he first came here he never said that what is wrong with people?

Well as my friends tell me, Koreans are racist in Korea to begin with o.O

It had nothing to do with a change of cultures. Maybe that's just them.. I'm not Korean so I wouldn't know =[

Personal experience, at my school the korean gang are racist and get mad easily. Even if you don't know you they'll snap at you.

I'm not saying all koreans are racist but the ones at my school sure are.

Whenever we'd get a transfer student we'd teach them swear words and stuff. I think it's mainly the culture portrayed in movies and stuff where everybody is swearing and flipping each other off.

Whilst rumours and stereotypes often end up as largely untrue, they do originate from somewhere. Korea, from personal experience, is an extremely traditionalist country. Japan, from my friend's experience, is also a very tight knit, traditionalist country.

I think that they (Saying a lot of the far Eastern countries) just export their culture as and how they see fit, and feel they can take or reject the culture from other cultures as and how they see fit. I could be very wrong, but it's actually not a bad idea in theory. It just makes physical integration very hard for either people visiting those countries, or visiting other countries from those places.

My friend was 6'10" and built like a brick shithouse, he was living in Japan. Despite all his time there, he was still very much rejected or, if not rejected, seen as a perpetual outsider. I think Korea would probably adopt a lot of similar qualities.

Maybe that's just part of the exchange student's attempt to assimilate to the culture. Just have a quiet, polite word and say "Hey, that's not something you should be saying, it means this.".
