I didn't want to go at first, because I would be surrounded by people who didn't like me, and whom I didn't like either. But then I decided I would take my girlfriend and a bunch of my buddies were going anyway, and I can't say I regret going.

Consider whether or not you care that you'd be called a social outcast anyway, considering you're not being cast out, but choosing NOT to go.

Secondly, consider all options. Do you have anything better to do? Do you have reason to go? Do you have reason NOT to go? etc.

around here you do SOMETHING that night, but hardly anyone goes to the dances. You usally watch the football game, go out to eat, then go to a redneck party,party hard and wake up in a ditch if you did it right.

this year i may not go to homecoming, XC meet to go to.(dont care bout popularity this year)
prom, so far away, not sure bout that yet.

senior prom is like the only dance at my school wheres its ok if u dont have a date, but you come anyway. all the other dances, if you dont have a date, u might as well stay home cuz its kinda embarrassing. unless ur a jock or something and ur excuse can be "to hang out with ur football buddies"

You can always do it like me. Since I had broken up with my current girlfriend like 1 week before my prom, I just went alone.

While there I snatched someone else's girl and took her away from there (by her request) and had a really good night.

It'll go just fine if you go there on a good mood and willing to have fun.
