Warcraft IV possible - Blizzard

But no plans afoot, yet

StarCraft II, Diablo III and the small matter of World of Warcraft's ongoing expansion - yet still Blizzard aren't done. Speaking with UK blog VG247 at Games Convention, co-founder Frank Pearce said that Warcraft IV is definitely a possibility for the future.

The exec qualifies this stating that a Blizzard development team would need to want to create the project: "If there’s a team that’s passionate about doing another Warcraft RTS, then that’s definitely something we would consider."


There's nothing in the works right now, however.

"We have development teams working on Wrath of the Lich King, StarCraft II, Diablo III, and when those teams are all off the projects they’re working on, they’ll be intimately involved in the the discussions about what’s next," Pearce concluded.

I hope they make it lich king based, sure you can play it in WoW but I rather play it in RTS Styled, I loved WC3, until it was flooded by DoTA therefore killing most of the other games .

World Of Warcraft ruined the RTS warcraft franchise, I doubt they plan on release anything involving lore continuity, maybe some "alternate" story or something between the lines

Yeah I agree, WoW lore pretty much ****ed up the warcraft series. It's so messed up that I find it hard to believe it's canonical.

I hope they really skip that wow part.

Battle.Net is the way to go buddy.

Asian server, expect a severe beating.

Lan play is more fun actually.

Most kids won't enjoy them.

Most kids don't know "strategy" and just quit actually.

I 1v6 my friends in a lan party once. i massed taurens, they got air, I shot them down with borrows and lol'd while I ***** them all.

Towers are good and demoralizes the enemy, but on the other hand, he can starve you by taking all the gold mines on the map.

Man, I played Warcraft 2 and Dune 2000 (yeah i know I missed out the original one) back when I was a kid. Then, command and conquer... starcraft, great fun seriously.

No you don't go into a game and think out hmm should I get grunts or troll headhunters for 1 minute. In that time you will be dead unless you can counter.
Wacraft is not like Chess where you can think out your moves. ( Unless it is those clock pace chess)
Its could mind games and coordination and strategy to excel in Warcraft III.

You can be good on Warcraft 2 (I play wc2 too) , but Warcraft 3 is totally a different thing.

But you cannot really know if you're a noob or not unless you play online. I mean, did your friends play online or not?

Competitive multiplayer in WC3 is often a reaction speed competition. It takes a lot of time to perfect build orders and not panic under micro. So it takes a little physical dexterity as well.
