Default Atlantica -- A ruined game

EDIT: Ruined game has been fixed, I will quote gm of game:

    "Hi everyone,

I just wanted to address some of the concerns in this thread. First let me state that cap has been lifted, you simply need to re-log for the effects to take place. The system was in place to help us fight users using macros to gain excessive profit but it was not working as intended at the moment. We want to apologize for any inconvenience this has caused you but you are now free to open as many boxes as you would like.

    Atlantica_GM05"

Here was my original message, before the "box stamina":

First the Stamina system. Which, I was like "Ok...that's pretty lame but I'll give it a shot." Now, with the release of OB they introduce yet ANOTHER limit they put on the players: How many boxes you can open per day.. Now, opening boxes is pretty much the main way to advance in this game. Opening boxes gives you gear, materials for crafting, skills to advance your characters, etc. Pretty much: Boxes are the gateway to advancing in the game.

Why on earth would they put a limit (which by the way I reached within 2 hours of playing the game, immediately when the servers opened). This box opening limit is even 100x worse than the horrible stamina limit.

Why would you want to limit how much your players can play and level and upgrade and advance in the game so much?

I don't know, and I don't care. But I'm gone. Atlantica is ruined.

    ---

They like to give BS reasons for releasing all these limits...but I'm pretty sure they are just going to release cash -shop items that take away these limits; so that they can say "Hey its a free game!" Then make tons of money becuz you really cant even advance in the game with these limits; and to take them away you must give them cash.

    --------

Ammended: Since they lifted the box limit, I will continue to try this game.

God forbid they give a game that casual players can be competitive in.

And yeah, I smell cash shop too.

Don't you mean the lost city of ATLANTIS? Or maybe Atlanta, Georgia?

Exactly, lucky for me I won't be playing it 10+ hours a day so my stamina never runs out.

But didn't the threadstarter said that he reached the limit upon playing for 2 hours?

I played from about nine to one or two and still had plenty of stamina left.

lol sounds to me they made that so casual players gain as much as people who play it all day.time for you nerds to go outside lol (not intended to anyone in general).

Yeah I like how it gives everyone the same competitive chance.
Plus, if you run out of stamina you can still level.. just takes a little longer.

But if you're someone who has to complain about how fast they can level then you're playing the game for the wrong reason.
Play for the fun of the game's features, not to reach a certain level before everyone else thinking people actually care about your maxed out character.

I played a total of maybe 4 hours, I haven't run out of stamina, and I haven't reached my box limit. I dont open every box I get because frankly its better for the inventory space to keep it boxed. I dont see the point in getting all my spirit equipment to +3, in fact, i haven't gotten anything to +3 and im doing fine. Its really not that hard. I have 30 stamina left now, I party a lot since it gives bonus exp, i dont have the time to play though, cos i have work to do. So complain about stamina and box limits all you want, but I dont think it limits you THAT much if you play normally, most people dont have problems. Yes, the limits are stupid, but it hasn't made the game unplayable, so it hasn't 'ruined' anything.

wow and here i thought they cant make the game more fail with the stamina system.. now they add a box limit system... so let me guess the next thing they will add is limit to how many run/movement you can make like 5000 movement per day .. or the amount of gold you can trade, get through mob hunt, market selling,trading.. or wait another one.. very great thing they will add.. a maximum time limit you can play per day.. if you exceed that time limit the game will log you out.. and wont let you enter the game in your account.. that will be great!! ("A VERY big Sarcasm!!>")

to be honest i was one of the few people who didnt like this game from the start, but thats just because you controll more then 1 character which is something i dislike anyway in a mmo. was gonna give it another try but i heard about the stamina system so i kept away from it. and now this box limit should be enough to keep me away forever.

In the end, Atlantica is just a 3D Browser like game xD

Luckily I read the GM post about removing the box-opening limit before I uninstalled.

I don't get the "browser like" crack either...seeing as to how this game takes up over 6GB installed. I'd say it's pretty massive. Quite graphical (im running it at 1680x1050 resolution. So I don't really see why you compare it to a browser game.

stamina won't stop "hardcore" gamers. people have already reached lvl 20 in a few hours. although i think they probably used tutorial scrolls or something.

all that stamina and box crap it's to promote their free league "competitive" pvp system, which to be honest it's complete and utter crap, I stopped Free leaguing since Second Close beta, it's just a horrible pvp system in general, even worse than WoW's Arena (let the flames begin since I mentioned WoW)

but to be honest I'm already used to the stamina system, I play casually and no more than 2-3 hours per day, but I understand the pain with "hardcore" gamers

Kind of strange to see people running out of stamina so soon. I played the game for 4+ hours, reached level 13, and did not go close to running out of stamina. Oh, and I haven't hit the limit for opening boxes yet, so I cannot comment on it.

They never said they are removing it. They said they are turning it off until the next patch do to some techincal problems. So find yourself limited in boxes next patch time ^^

Who cares? Atlantica is a good game, with a good company, Ndoors isnt trying to be like FFXI (Dont bash meh!) Where you see "People got pyshically sick due to an 18 hour fight" No, they're making it limited so no asian kid (Dont bash meh!) dies trying to get to level 100 in a day.

    :P

*Waits for the bash on the FFXI comment*

Trying to limit Americans is madness.

And, you shouldn't have mentioned FFXI, now watch you being bashed.

that's what I said, it's not like I'm gonna play 18 hours a day and waste my stamina, although the box opening IT'S ridiculous, as it affects casuals and "hardcores" alike

then again, I see the point of view of most people, at least ndoors it's not trying to rip-off people by putting expensive stamina items in the cash shop, they already said that wasn't their intention

BUT their intention was so people try the free league system and enjoy the community, the main problem here it's that free league it's just not a good pvp experience and needs lots of tweakings before going live
