Ok i want to play some new games like far cry 2 when it comes out....but my cpu suks....anyone now wear i can get one thats better than 1.80 GHZ and im looking for dual core. And mmm....how do i know how many socket i have on my cpu...cuz my friend said u need a cpu with the same amont of socket.
I got AMD Athlon 64 processor 3000+ 1.8 GHz

AMD ftw. What you should do, is look up your mother board to see what CPU's are compatible with it. If you have an AM2 socket, then you'll be able to upgrade to a Athlon dual core no problem.
Another thing you should probably do, is post in the right section so your not 'flamed', well even though there really isn't a proper section for these kind of things, so you should be fine.

Somewhere on the motherboard it will tell you the name of it. If you don't feel like looking, then you can download this program:
SiSoftware - Tells you everything you'd need or want to know about your computer hardware.

edit: also to look for compatible CPU's, go to the main site of who ever produced the motherboard your using, and search for it. It should then have a list somewhere of all the compatible CPU's.
