Hey I downloaded it a few weeks ago, was really amped to try it out but the server was down when i wanted to subscribe.
I checked recently and the server was up and running.
i got as far as killing rats in the newbie tutorial.
The character creation was pretty detailed which is quite cool.
many races to choose ect.
A few of the race models were unavailable cause they were in construction.
yeah, i was looking forward to get stuck in but when it came to the killing of rats.... man
like i'm not a graphics freak or anything but when they died they kinda made a lame attempt at rolling onto their side no "groan" or "thwap" no indication they died besides them leaning a bit to the left then 10 seconds later flopping over onto there backs.
so ya, the same day i downloaded rubies of eventide and tried that
Never got around to trying planeshift for real.
Apparently planeshift is a roleplay intensive world so strict name rules and no out of character speak in main chat and the rest of stuff that comes with RP.
Maybe i'll try it out again for real this week could be fun if u get into the whole roleplay thing and come to terms with the bad battle animations.
hey but it is free not even cash shop based and the game world history/story was cool when i read it.
The game has been in construction for a few years. The game has been extremely roleplay intensive. Needless to say, if you don't role-play it's not really the game for you. On the other hand, their event staff has lost quite a few people (for whatever reasons) so they don't happen as often. In light of that, they've started to insert mini-games (it's in their news section).
All-in-all, as a game itself, it needs a lot of work. But if you like close communities and RP, go for it.
