"The idea that we are Surrounded by a Bubble of Nothingness is as crazy as the theory that the world will end on 2012, i think it is ******ed, i believe that i will keep believing in Dark matter and energy, because it doesn't sound as crazy." Happy?

    How interesting. Theory +1.

Make another post when they figure out how gravity can apparently affect things faster than the speed of light (A giant ball moved closer to our planet has an instant gravitational effect, IIRC... I'm not a physics guy).

I might have misread TFA, but if the universe isn't expanding, then how do they explain how that structures outside of the observable universe are influencing objects within the observable universe through gravity? If the universe isn't expanding, then according to the theory of the universe constantly expanding, then those objects shouldn't be unobservable.

Of course, I could be dead wrong if there were a way for those structures to be outside of the universe without the universe expanding. Haha, astronomy isn't my strong suit.

Would someone who knows a thang or two enlighten us? (Get it? ENLIGHTEN? 'Cause dark energy is involved n' stuff. Yeah... I should get a pun book or something because that one wasn't very funny.)

Actually, it cannot, according to the Theory of General Relativity. For example, if the sun were to suddenly disappear, we would orbit for x amount of time (too lazy to look up how long it takes for light from the sun to reach us) and after that point our orbit will stop. But that won't matter, since if the sun were to disappear, then we would freeze to death really quickly.

So, what it's saying, is that because of this dark energy the universe is getting pushed away form us?

So this means we don't need to invent an engine faster than the speed of light to go visit other planets?

***** i'm packing my stuff. I'm going to find a sandy, hot planet.

stories about the end of the world are always ******ed no matter what day of the week it is. at least this has some scientific principle behind it beyond "yeah but the mayans". theories about the end of the world are always being thrown about, often based on nothing but conjecture and when the date comes to pass instead of people dropping it they just come up with a new date, despite their predictions having previously been proved wrong. its stupid.
