Keyboard Problems (not tech section)

I posted this here, because I figured it would get the most views...its an odd problem, I'm not sure if many will know what I'm talking about.

Its not a a tech problem really, the keyboard works just fine...

Except when I'm gaming.

Its a laptop keyboard, which is fine...but have you guys ever had one of those keyboards where you can't hold down the key and get repeated input?

For example, when I press "CTRL", it only works ONE time...once. If I put the attack on a letter (z) it gets repeated...zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. Know what I mean?

Its kinda tough for me, as I'm playing a game where I really need to hold the key IN...and the most convenient keys are ones I can't do that with.

Is there some setting I can change? Should I try a USB keyboard?

A usb keyboard will probably work. Some laptop keyboards aren't as functional as regular keyboards (ei. you can only press 2 buttons at a time, etc.)

Doesn't it kinda depend on the game? 'Cause I have a laptop also and some games won't accept the 'holding down a button to get repeated action' concept.
