Yeah so, this topic about weed.

Well, more like, it's about the pros/cons or whatever.

Basically, do you smoke it? Why or why not? I guess you could call this a debate thread, but I'd rather it be more of a discussion among friends.

Inspired by this thread. Now listen here kids, I know it's a touchy subject and that's why I'm so interested... I want to see what everyone has to say about it.

I'm just going to say, it's useless. Back in the day it may have been sought out due to medicinal importance...but it's not really... important. I've never done, and don't plan to. I'm open to everything, but I'm not saying I like it. It's just kind of something older people (and now younger people....yay...) spend their money on.

It's like politics, annoying and full of fighting, but people are still addicted to it.

I dunno.

It's also said to be something to relax...that's a load of bull in my opinion. Do something relaxing, but at the same time...good for your body/mind. You may just be burning a natural plant...pftt...but you could be...drinking one instead. (Tea maybe?) It's often found to be good for you, and relaxing because of it's ginseng... Blah blah blah..

Sorry about the repetitiveness. I didn't realize that this has been an ongoing thing at OnRPG.

I'm always kind of iffy about the whole "weed is a natural plant, so it must be okay!" excuse. Cocaine comes from Coca plant. Shrooms are well.... shrooms. Morphine, Heroin, all of that... Opium. You know, there's plenty of natural plants that will seriously screw things up for you.

@Hippo: Yeah, it is useless, but nobody smokes weed under the illusion that they're doing something good (unless of course you're smoking it to become more popular, and if that is the case, I would seriously reanalyze your life).

But then again, how is playing video games really any different? Or watching a movie? All of them pretty much involve sitting around doing nothing on a couch.

@Noah: Well, on one hand, you've got the obvious effects weed has. The other, you could have memories, ones you can remember, or even experience because you'll live that long to look back upon them.

I meant that it doesn't make sense to me when people say that because it grows in the ground does not make it safe. There are plenty of extremely dangerous drugs that grow in the ground.

Weed is not one of them.

Yeah but to most of those drugs, chemicals have to be added to them. I'm not saying that because its a plant, it should be okay, I'm just saying that there are a lot of worse things. Lets say you smoke 1 - 2 grams of marijuana. You're going to get happy, hungry, sleepy. Lets say you take 1 - 2 grams worth of pills of Aspirin. That's going to be your last headache man.

Marijuana is frowned upon, but there's too many medicinial benefits for some people to turn it down. I think with some medical research, Marijuana won't be as bad as people make it out to be.

It's like a personal preference. I have friends who smoke it and they're pretty cool with it. One of them is a track star and he's definitely not a couch potato o.O

At the moment, though, I'm fine having my Corona w/ lime (as far as mind altering substances go).

Besides, the smell of pot is almost nauseatingly sweet, at least to me.
