Holy shit.
I just watched that movie for the first time and it was ****ing amazing.
Robert DeNiro is like... FGREHGTWHRWHRWHWRHNTRHNRTSNTYENTJNTYSWNJHRF.

The 20th century is kicking our ass.

The light is already dim, and its not shining anymore...
But srsly, yeah, I really liked this movie. Its Robert DeNiro afterall
Robert DeNiro wasn't in the movie.... it was Jack Nicholson
ZOMG.
EPIC FAIL. >.<
Sorry, my bad.
Haha. LOL. Who said robert deniro is not there? tsk. No fun
Not really my intention. I thought maybe it could be a thread where people could talk about how awesome The Shining is. I figure people make posts about movies or shows all the time, so this seems alright to me.
Maybe the way I worded it was a bit spammy though.
I didn't enjoy it...
Not scary, not funny, nothing really... Sure it has some memorable lines, but that is about it.
You don't think it was scary? I thought it was a lot creepier than a lot of movies I've seen.
It's not terrifying, but the pacing, the lighting, the camera angles... the whole movie just had a creepy ambiance to it.
Reputation: 151Then watch Screamers or The Thing, much creepier than The Shining. If you want the full experience of The Shining, read the book.
Sorry, didn't really do it for me. I can't really recall a good scary movie, sure some things scared the crap (almost) out of me when I was younger (Pee Wee's big adventure had a shocker moment with a trucker or something, I hated that... Oh, and Jaws) but nowadays I can't find a horror that enjoy as a horror.
Some have bits of comedic genius, mind you, a la Jason X [or Jason in Space, whatever it was] where in one scene Jason is in a hologram room and 2 co-ed holograms ask him if he wants to "Drink beer... or smoke pot... or have pre-marital sex, we love pre-marital sex", the next scene you see with jason you see him swinging one sleeping bag into another one [one over his shoulder like a sledge hammer onto the one on the ground] and you hear "Ow.. Ow!".
Was screamers the one with the chainsaw ground robots? Watched it, it was kinda overly cheesy though.
Never seen or head about this movie but I'm gonna watch it right away since I really like JN.
Reputation: 1151It was a few years since I watched it last (2 months ago) then I saw it on the stupid "On Demand" channel. Mom got rid of our HBO, so I was pissed and ordered it for $1.50.
I was ****ing terrified. I remember watching it when I was younger, but not really getting the whole movie. When I watched it last time, it was scary lol. Not bad scary, like the kind of scared its FUN to be.
Then I tried watching it 2 days later with my girlfriend. It seems to be a movie that I can only fully enjoy when I'm on my own (I have a few of those.)
But yeah, its BAD ASS!
@ POK : I always LOL at scary movies. I lol'd at the new Halloween a lot. It was super funny. So was Freddy VS JasonThat one always gets me. The only movies that ever really freaked me out were: Mirrors (I'm scared of mirrors to begin with), The Exorcism Of Emily Rose (because its a true story), The Shining and The Happening. I was scared at some parts of the Happening. Honestly, I was.
"HEREEEE'S JOHNNY!"
The thing is that the hotel is actually scary than most of the characters, it's just the setting that makes the movie scary.
It's like Scarface, really.
Very good, I'd recommend it, but it's neither the actor's best work, or as good as people say.
