The big news of the day is that one of the biggest PlayStation 3 games of the year, “Little Big Planet,” has been delayed due to the late discovery that a song in the game includes lines from the Qur’an.

Sony has issued a statement, recalling the game and pushing back the U.S. release date in America to 10/27.

But what do the game’s creators have to say?

The developers at Media Molecule are “shellshocked and gutted,” saying they only learned about this one day ago and took swift action.

Media Molecule’s website is down right now due to overwhelming traffic, but here is the full statement that was published there by a member of the development studio, explaining their side of things:

Ouch good ol' uk will actually beat the US! Not that i have a PS3 to play it on. But on a more expensive every friday for a month a top title comes out (Fable 2,Fallout 3, GoW2, CoD5:WaW.) LBP looks pretty nice though hopefully microsoft will bring out there money again

The most petty form of censorship is self-censorship.

At least they now have some reason to get the games name into the news-cycle once again.

I am pretty curios of what kind of customers they try to woo with their "initiative".
I find all this personally unnecessary, sad and I would be ashamed to be a part of such a crowd, so it obviously can't be me.
