    Default Space colonization

I've been thinking lately, ive had this idea for a new kind of space travel, making distances that would take too long, short. If it is possible space colonization will be a very real idea. So what do you think of Space colonization, if the option was available would to move to another planet(and on top of that, one extremely far away)

P.S: Dont let modern day "Fact" cloud your judgment, just say it takes a day to arrive at your planet, but there is no return flight for a while.

If there's high speed internet, food, girls, and comfortable living conditions with a sufficient wage job then sure.

As much as i would love to live in space, how the hell are they gonna build a spacestation. Build it on earth and then launch it or launch a building kit and some construction workers to finish the spacestation.

The closest livable planet is alpha centauri i believe and its 4.37 light years away.

I think we would try to start off on a good foot, and have all those things so we dont start up like the "mother land" earth lol.

there would be local internet connection most likely, but not with earth, information doesn't fair to well at speeds faster than the speed of light. so there would be a... 4 year lag.

Aye, their socialistic ideals are far reaching...even across the vastness of space.

Who among you has the courage to die tomorrow......but be remembered forever?

@Blacklions: that is my favorite movie.
It isn't *inapplicable* because of the hypothesis I stated i wouldn't comment on in the first post.

but it is based off the fact that if E=mc2, then M=E/c2

Anyways, My idea for Colonization is that we should have a few different planets, as far as they might be, and send various survey teams to them. 80,000 volunteer people from around the world will be sent to these planets after basic living establishments are set up. 20,000 each world. The Requirements of each person sent would be this.

1:Knowledgeable about the occupation that they will immediately start on there arrival.

2:Have a family with at least 2 kids.

3:Be willing to change there lifestyles because of absents of earthly luxuries.

Also a construction crews will be making more and more stuff as the population of the new worlds grows, and within 5-10 years a internet will be set up.

information would travel via FTL(if thats what you wanna call it) ship, and it will hold data then go each planet and deliver data. it would take a while but would be better than waiting 10-20-30 years for a response.

Check the price it has to send 1 guy into the orbit
    multiply with 80,000
    multiply with the distance
multiply with 100 because of the amount of resources needed producing worldwide steel shortage, etc.

Check back on the non-existent benefit or value production

    /facepalm

My comment: If it ever happens it will be Americans.
