Hi I don't know if I can do this here but I still wanted to try to.
I've been searching a nice RTS but I don't seem to find any.
Let's see what I like ? I like the old warfare with swords maces etc. Or even more prehistoric. Not with guns so midevil time would be the limit.
I also like if there are boats in the game.
I also like it if you can have allies etc.
Well let's see what I liked
Age of mytology
Empire Earth 1 & 2
Populous: The Beginning (a old game)
Age of empires 1 with the old stuff
Age of mytology
Stronghold Crusader and Stronghold 2
What I don't like
things with robots and tanks supreme commander
Or hihger stages in Empire earth 1 and 2
Stronghold legends due the dragons etc. They ruined it pretty much.
Well i'm suggest you at least consider trying the demo of Mount and Blade, mount and blade is a kind've medieval action rpg with some strategy elements. Theres no magic in the game, which you'd like.
The gameplay is mostly hire troops, decide what you want to do and fight large battles in a third person view, you can invade castles, fight in snow, mountains or flat plains terrain.
The strategy element comes from the backspace button which brings up a mini strategy menu allowing you to send simply command to your units such as fall back to this position, follow me, use only blunt weapons,advance and charge.
The overall effect is a really emersive medieval experience. If you hate the graphics there a better graphics mod and an HDR mod, but i'd recommend you avoid the HDR mod.
