No, they aren't.
Everyone got worked up about an FF7 remake for PS3 because Sony used a demo of FF7's opening in CG to show of the PS3's graphics engine. Square Enix has said several times that they aren't remaking FF7.

it has been a long running rumor since square released the remastered intro of ff7 to show what it would look like on ps3.
i actually hope they dont, part of the charm of ff7 is the graphics and remastering it would ruin and dilute the whole thing, i honestly will be very disappointed if they remake it.

no, there is no remake, as said before it was just a demo, and they have confirmed it a thousand times that they have to plans for a remake.
just a personal note: at the end of crisis core they kinda hint at a remake; which would be awesome... but i don't care, i'll just go play the origanal version again...
i love VII so much... and all the spin-offs, FFVII, CC: FFVII, FF: AC, FF: DC, and FF: BC*.
*it was a 20 minute video filling in some of the missed parts of FFVII, everything you see in it is replayed in crisis core.

FF7 was over rated to me, i mean yes it was good, but as with WoW, it is not the second coming of video game christ.

dont think they will remake but its quite possible they will make ff7 which is not part of the storyline , something like a spin-off like crisis core or derge of cerebus

square soft no longer exist and this cannot call the shots, neither does enix... they merged almost a decade ago.
i know that square soft released FFVII but now all the shots are called by square enix.
