    Default Digital Television

So I was just watching supernatural online and they showed a commercial that said something about you will only be able to watch TV if you get digital TV after February.

So I looked it up and it seems to be like the blue ray of regular TV?

Well I'm pretty much just confused on this, will it cost more money, will the TV before that be obsolete or what.

just get a converter box for your old tv it costs 20-30 bucks....and no its no way like blu ray for tv's....quality is a tiny tad bit better but its pretty much the same just that tv's will recieve digital signals as opposed to analog signals

In February of 2009 all analog stations will switch over to a DTV signal. People with cable/satellite will not be affected by this change. Also, this does not mean that standard definition will become high definition. The only people this will effect are people who use antennas and an old TV. Most TVs since like 2005 or something are built with a converter, but TVs before then don't have this so you need to get a box that converts the digital signal into an analog one.
