Mac's are hugely based off of video editing and graphics design , But if you intend to play much games at all don't get a mac.

    Easy question;
    Whats your priority?
    a) performance
    b) portability and build and noise

The first pick will just right allow you to switch it on without the power-cable attached.

@MacOS: I don't find it good and I don't find it useful for anything.
That's just my opinion, though I know people who would argue against that, I also know that they don't use it themselves.
The only people who use it that I know have no technical experience or comparison, besides box colors and TV ads.

imo, macs arent better for gfx design. it was more a temporary fashion to use macs instead of desktop pcs/laptops.
being a media designer myself, i can assure you that windows based systems are the way to go. my entire company uses win xp/vista

Ya, it makes sense, in a way.

I have a week to think about this, right now am leaning towards PC.

Do you suggest any good laptops, i picked Sager because there like Alienware but half the price. Same specs and all.:3

    Gracies amigos!!

the sager looks very good, im sure the integrated 9800 can even play the newest games at pretty much high settings. it depends on how much u're willing to spend, because 2500$ is a lot

Just put XP on it with bootcamp. Don't feel bad pirating XP, its Microsofts own fault for pulling it from the shelves. They are making it unavailable, so the only way for you to get it is by pirating it. (lol, that might hold up in court!)

Anyway, my 2 cents...all of the art rooms and computer labs in my old high school and trade school based on graphic design are Mac based. If you are serious about graphic design, I think its obvious that Macs are the standard.

(I mean...people are generally unwilling to switch OS's, so the fact that there are so many Macs must mean they are better at it.)

If this is a PC FOR SCHOOL, get a Mac. If you are like "lol, I want this so I'm gonna say its for school, but then use it for gaming anyway lolololol", get a PC. Mac gaming is coming up, but its not quite where PC gaming is...and I'm not sure if it ever will be.

No, they still have that advantage. The main advantage that they had was that the color palete was based off of the CMKY color model, which is what printers use to print.
Windows uses the RGB color model.
So, because OSX uses CMKY they can display more accurately how it would look if it is printed.
