ratings are just estimates of how others like something
so you'll still find ratings ridiculous from time to time
but at least it shows what others think
so imo for a rating to be fair, it better count the opinions of as much people as possible ( sorta like imdb )
and not just a overall rating, people should rate specific aspects of a game for example a seperate rating for each, graphics,gameplay,story,controls,community and support, so to make subjective opinions become objective...hmmm hope that makes sense
