Default To Wow, or not to WoW

I've been playing WoW Lately and Hell I even pre-ordered WOTLK, But I just haven't been playing it at all. I have a local friend who gives me items and gold, so my character is pretty pimped out but only level 21. Is it worth quitting and going back to F2P mmo's?Or should I try to get into WoW?
    Thanks for any suggestions

This isn't a question for everyone else to know. You should do ask this yourself.

The toss up is F2P games are free with less content and support or a monthly fee for more content and support. Personally I <3 P2P games and really I've yet to see a F2P game come close to the content of most major P2P mmo's.

Do whats fun. If your not having fun don't play. if you are having fun, then play it.

It really is as simple as that. Don't make things difficult.

why not instead of quitting you try making a new character and playing the game yourself? eh? that's a good idea there

Well,Leveling up theres not really much to do and the skills in WoW are fairly Lackluster, Personally besides raids I don't see what makes it so good.

:3 then you probably shouldn't be playing it lol i dunno, it does get better at 50+ and the pvp is fun. maybe try a class which you like more. out of all of them i found the warlock and rogue to be the most engaging.

These guys tend to dislike WoW. I say if you think it's fun, keep playing. Most of the time Leveling up more adds to the enjoyment because more Instances open up to you, as well as Daily Quests, PVP, and Raids. Once you hit 58 the game gets very exciting when you go to outland. And some sneak preview of WoTLK have shown some Boss Battles unlike and MMORPG before.

find a good guild, make a few friends

once you find some people you like hanging out with the game is much more enjoyable as it is in many games

the endgame isnt all PvP and raids it's actually more about exploring, getting new gear, and just chillin in general

    That's not true at all.
Especially from 50-58, you're in for the worst of what WoW has to offer.
I constantly see people spewing this nonsense about "the game gets better at level XX!"-- that's an outright lie.
If you don't like the game for what it is, in essence, it isn't going to get any better.

Nothing dramatic or game-altering happens in any level range, aside from "endgame".
Even then, you're just exposed to an even bigger grind.

i actually found 40-50 to be the worst levels atleast for me it was (shaman)

and nothing game-altering or any of that shit ever happens in any mmo that's for single player games

If you don't like the game at level 10, you won't want to level 60 times to 70, and you probably won't like it at 70 anyway (if you happen to make it)
i said that he didnt like it becuase he was letting his friend do everything for him, making gold and surviving against all of those douches out there who wont let you do and instance becuase your gear isnt up to snuff, is part of the game too it adds to the submertion and when your submersed you cant get out

I really can't believe this thread hasn't degenerated into kindergarten speak yet; I mean it actually has WoW in the title.....twice!

Honestly though, WoW is much more enjoyable at endgame than it is early. Part of the beauty of the process is that by endgame when your character actually gets strong, you feel godlike because you were relatively gimp for so long. Just make sure you make the right class decision the first time around because grinding the levels the second time through was really painful for me. Also, try to meet people who you get along with and get in a good guild as early as possible, WoW is a very social game in general and, ironically (or is it sadly?), most people are either morons or assholes.

All in all it's a really fun game if you are willing to make the time commitment, but this concept isn't unique to WoW. Like another poster said, if you aren't gonna stick with WoW what makes you think you will stick with anything else?

The diff between lvl 50s and 60s is that, new instances don't need 3 hrs+ to do.

Um, thats the appeal.. Most WoW players are pretty casual and like reward for a little bit of work, but not too much. Hardcore raiders are the exception, but they're like 2% of the total population. Also you have a gang of real loserly fellows that like to stalk others after they talk to them on vent. Being stalked in an mmo sucks. I find no charm in being pmed half a second after I log in, or even worse by a guy that I've ignored and has a buddy pester me after they find out I'm on. Report them all you want, they never get banned.

Well, F2P games, there are some good ones

    But the main question is.

    Do you like WoW?

On FFXI my realm is Hades and it literally has empty areas a good bit of the time.. Maybe 900 total people playing with 1100 total characters. WoW has 11 million people spread through all its realms and even the lower pop places have people to talk with. I guess some use it as a 3d chat room with some video game elements.

The big diffrence between servers is huge, odin has been maxed out, ppl often can't login, bahamut has up to 6k ppl online.

Many servers are populated, yet a few are not, with square might fuse or redirect the tons of ppl just starting now due the trial.com
