Default Is your family affected by the global financial crisis ?

Sort of curious if everyone's family here is affected. Just read the news that South East Asia's biggest bank by assets, DBS, is going to lay off 900 staff from Hong Kong and Singapore.

My dad's metal company sure took a hit though.

    Our company lost 50 people,
    I'm glad I'm still there.

    Still didn't effect my family.

I'll tell you what, OnRPG sure was affected. We had to lay off about 270 of the child sweatshop workers who keep up the database, power the bicycles that run our servers, and knit the sweaters for us Staff to wear.

Do you have any idea how warm those sweaters are? Stupid global financial crisis!

Unless you're dad is making over 1mil a year, then no, he won't be doubling his taxes, but he'll actually be lowering them.

And if he is making over 1mil a year, then I don't think it'll affect you that much anyways.

Anywhoooo... My family has been slightly affected, but because so many people dropped winter vacation plans my family got a cheap deal for the cayman islands over winter break

Do you know anything about Obama's policies? you have to make 250 thousand and above to have higher taxes, not one million dollars.

over 250,000 gets 3% more taxes yeah. But this is nothing compared to george bush. The tax brackets he had were so messed up for the rich it was rediculous. He basically made it incredibly easy for richer people to get away with tax fraud, but not for the middle class even though they were paying the same taxes. The lower class payed like 11%, while middle class payed 30% and upper class payed around 30-40, which is stupid.
