    Default Local Music

Wondering if anyone has any good local bands in their area.

The music scene from where I live was awesome. I used to go to shows every weekend and it was a great time. Lots of friends, live music, and the place served good food. (They wouldn't serve me alcohol but oh well).

Some good bands from my area:

Rebellious Toast (My friends are in it!)

    Anyone else?

ooh, there are a fair few good bands in the Toronto area.

    1) Woods of Ypres are a black/folk/doom metal band sort of in the vein of Agalloch (from Oregon).

(The Northern Cold is their best song)

    2) The Birthday Massacre are a modern goth/electronica band who also have elements of metal and industrial.

The Birthday Massacre - The Dream

    3) Metric are an indie rock band. I think Emily Haines is/was also part of Broken Social Scene, and has her own solo project as well.

(looks like Metric or their label went through youtube and got rid of everything. Their best song, though, is Grow Up and Blow Away)

You can thank Kitty for my Birthday Massacre love. I still listen to them to go to sleep at night sometimes.

And I've heard of Metric, but I'm not really into indie rock.

There are actually too many bands from London, so I'm not gonna list any famous ones.

I don't know if I could list any ones that AREN'T famous. East London/London had one of the best underground music scenes in the country, I was fortunate enough to be a part of it, but then it disintegrated when the venues got shut down.
