Beyond religious obligation, is there really any reason to deny someone the right to marry? If you are a Christian you can simply refuse to vote on the matter. You're not enabling people to 'sin' by voting FOR it, and you're not denying someone a simple right.

On homophobia:
In case you don't feel like watching it, there was an experiment done on homophobes. 56 guys were taken and split into two groups based on how they answered questions: homophobic, and non-homophobic. Every guy was placed into a room where he had to watch homosexual porn. Each one of these guys had their erectile responses measured while watching it. Every guy in the homophobic group became erect while watching the video. Every guy in the non-homophobic group did not. And the homophobes denied becoming erect, even with the evidence right there before their eyes.
