Default serious irritating install issue with xp

i've recently bought a GA-K8N-SLI motherboard from Gigabyte with a geforce 6800GT PCIe and an AMD64 bit 3800+. During the setup i placed my old DDR modules in my system, being an Acaper256mb, 266mhz module and a kingston 256mb 400 mhz module. During the attempt of installing windows xp i get randomly 2 kinds of error during the pre-install of windows.
Eitherways, an 0x00000023 error, saying my disk is fragmented or there are to many I/O processes for files or 0x0000008E, saying that one or more modules is broken is misplaced.I have formatted the Hd twice and did a scandisk, perfectly fine, afterwards i tried every single combination with the 2 modules (even using 1 module and placing it in every possible slot). The modules on their own are fine, never had any trouble with them so it would be quite unusual.
    anyone know what to do?

So you boot the computer, you insert the windows xp disc,
and during the install it gives you those errors?

It could be something with the configuration, when you boot
