Default Feeling sleepy and tired all day long...

Anyone has the same probs as me? No matter how long I sleep at night, I will go to work the next day yawning throughout the day and feeling fatigue and even with tears of sleepiness.

I usually sleep for 6-7hours straight. Maybe its due to the fact i only do some sports like weightlifting and soccer once in awhile? Or is it some chronic illness?

    Is that your only symptom?

The first thing I thought was diabetes, but there would be some other signs. Probably just normal fatigue. I'd try to get some more sleep, though. I get about 8.

How old are you? Chances are you're under 30, and need AT LEAST 8 hours of sleep a night. Your habit of getting 6-7 hours is what's causing your fatigue. Go to sleep earlier. Work harder during the day. Go to sleep when you feel tired, NOT when you feel you have to.

First of all you have to understand how sleep works...
I suggest sleeping for diffrent hours this week. One night do 8 hours
Then go to 7, then 6, then 5
You have to find you sleep schedule that your body likes, mine is 8, 6, and 3 hours
Anything else and i feel really tired and can't think!

my dad has diabetes, but the last time i checked my blood and did some urine tests a few months back, everything was fine.

those were the only symptoms i guess. Its really frustrating not being able to concentrate on work and having an urge to yawn out loud.

I don't even use the PC much at home nowadays, maybe 1hour every weekday.

This "illness" defined by me has been bugging me for some time. Why some people, if not most, can be so energetic and lively despite having the same or less amount of slee then me.

I wish I can sleep more. My weekday schedule:

    7am: Wakes up.

    8.30am: Reach workplace

    6.15pm: Knock off.

    7pm: night class

    10pm: end of night class

if my dad doesn't drive me home, or if im taking public transport, will take me around 1hour+ to reach home, at around 11.10pm.

add in washing up, surfing a tiny bit of internet, im off to bed at 12am+.

Where can I find 8hours of sleep seriously, i used to sleep for more than 8hours, but to be honest, i woke up feeling uber tired too.

Often if you OVER sleep or UNDER sleep you end up being tired. Try to shoot for that golden 8 hours and see if that helps.

hahah thats not an excuse, mayb u go on the computer cus u are depressed; well doesnt matter, i dont think either its depression, haha, but for example, if you are with your friends and you start talkin with them about something interesting/fun, do u still feel tired? or u feel more energetic?
if u do feel tired even with ur friends u r depressed, if its not taht iits just normal, when you dont have any physical movement or something that you find "fun" like doing something you like, and instead of that u just do something BORING, your body, as it doesnt move, and it doesnt feel interested on what u r doing, it will go into a kind of "sleep mode" like before you are going to go sleep , that happens to me at school, but i recover at lunchtime HAAAAA

I have a lot of problems waking up in the morning to go to work. I've always been a night person, and always am up around 2am or later, all night on the weekends. Trying to break my body of this habit is a pain in the ass.

You have to get yourself a sleep schedule and stick to it. Also if need be, take a 30 minute nap during lunch or something to give your body a boost of energy to last the rest of the day. I say 30 minutes, because anything more then that and you can start to fall into a deeper sleep and when you wake up will feel even more tired. Counter-productive.

Get a semi-decent breakfast in the morning, drink a glass of water when you wake up. Before I leave for work, I stop at the gas station and pick up a couple donuts and a coffee that I can't drink until I get to work (lava hot.)

I "try" to get to sleep around 12:30-1am on the weekdays. I wake up around 7am, and leave for work at 8am. I generally feel pretty good while I'm at work and don't have any problems staying awake. And all I do all day is sit in front of a PC and fix the computers people break.

But that is what I have had to get adjusted to, and for the most part it works. I'm still trying to get my "internal clock" correct.

There are a lot of articles online about methods of sleeping and how to improve your body performance throughout the day, a lot of interesting reads on how your body and mind work, I suggest looking up what you can on it.

As for falling asleep, don't eat anything before you go to sleep, try to minimize as much sound as you can, try to get your room as dark as you can, and make sure that the temperature is warm, not too hot and not too cold. All those will really help with falling asleep and having a sound comfortable sleep as well.

These are just things that worked for me through the past few months, hopefully they could help you a little as well, or at least give you some ideas.
WHOAAA everything u just said actualy makes a LOT of sense!!! (btw im not being sarcastic )

It could also be that you're not getting a good quality of sleep. If you snore or toss and turn a lot you'll wake up at night but not long enough to remember it. Try getting a good mattress and record yourself at night sleeping.
