Or just set your PC to view hidden files and folders and copy it off on your own.

It'll **** up the song titles (name them stuff like "NO$)#@!11") but they will still be tagged correctly when you upload them into iTunes. It just shows them as an odd name in Explorer. Thats what I always did anyway, they still display the same in iTunes and on your player so them being screwy in Explorer never really mattered to me.

With Sharepod, the names are all correct.

It shouldn't be the ONLY option, to erase all your music. I know that for certain because I use my brother's iPod on my computer and vice versa when we want to exchange music.
As for getting it OFF the iPod, there's no way unless you use a different program.
