Does it ever do this?
Why don't you go look it up on the games tech support site? You'll get way more help there then on onrpg.
Reputation: 30im Downloading a Patch for it right now, ill see if that works. and do you really think there is a web site that offers help on such a old game.
I've found help with older :/ It's the ****in internet man. You can find anything on it.
EDIT: Wait, Since you're running vista that's probaly the problem man. There is no fixing vista, For it is more fail than windows 2000 :/
Reputation: 218Circumventing the rules by asking people to PM you for a game you acquired through ways which are not allowed to be mentioned can be just as bad as breaking the rule.
Let this be a warning to you all. When we say it's not allowed, we mean it's not allowed.
Reputation: 30oh yea, but you do know in canada it isnt piracy, its file sharing which is completly Legal
Plus its abandonware
Actually, you can legally acquire SS2 for free legally. There are several sites out there that just require you to sign up for the newsletter and you get SS2 as a download. That's how I got it.
Also, to the OP. Dude, you're doomed. Vista is bad. Hell, the GSP major at DeVry (game development) made sure to order special Windows XP laptops so that our games and editors would actually work. Vista is too different from previous Windows, that is were it fails. A lot of changes were made for a specialty, multi-core OS that really screwed previous platforms.
Reputation: 30is it possible to run a Windows XP or 2000 Emulator (like a complete one) on Vista with out having to get Boot camp or anything like that?
Reputation: 24I got this same problem, and I have XP.
It's not Vista, but I fixed it by booting it up in Window's 98 compatibility mode and running it on a single core of my processor. I don't know if that would work for you, but it's worth a try.

Should help you out if you're on XP. Vista; I don't know. Try the steps for the XP install, and see if they work. Don't ever give up on getting this game to run. It's one of the best games ever made.
Reputation: 30cool, i fixed it, i just made it run on 1 Core istead of 2, AMAZING GAME!!!
You have no idea. It just gets better and better. And then it gets worse at the end. But it's worth it!
Reputation: 60hit me up with the download link... the game looks like complete crap but it has been choosen for the top 10 fps games from a site

*waits for warning/ban*
System Shock 2 is one of my favourite games of all time.
It both surprises me and doesn't surprise me that so many haven't played it.
Oh, and a small note. If you like System Shock 2, you'll love Deus Ex. Less horror, more epicness.
You can pretty much play Deadspace and get the exact same storyline as System Shock 2. But yeah... SS2 gets really bad about a chapter or two before the ending.
