Actually, you can legally acquire SS2 for free legally. There are several sites out there that just require you to sign up for the newsletter and you get SS2 as a download. That's how I got it.Originally Posted by power_gamer_6

I got this same problem, and I have XP.
It's not Vista, but I fixed it by booting it up in Window's 98 compatibility mode and running it on a single core of my processor. I don't know if that would work for you, but it's worth a try.

Should help you out if you're on XP. Vista; I don't know. Try the steps for the XP install, and see if they work. Don't ever give up on getting this game to run. It's one of the best games ever made.

System Shock 2 is one of my favourite games of all time.
It both surprises me and doesn't surprise me that so many haven't played it.

You can pretty much play Deadspace and get the exact same storyline as System Shock 2. But yeah... SS2 gets really bad about a chapter or two before the ending.

I thought SS2 was way better than Dead Space.
But yeah, the game sorta died near the end. The end was easy as hell too.
Probably one of the best horror FPS's I've ever played though.
