I think it's unfair to sack those workers.
They are just doing what their parents thought them; "mind your own business".

Where do I sign up for death penalty for the mum and her boyfriend?

Social workers do fantastic work for millions of children across the UK. The staff involved will have to live with guilt and blame for the rest of their lives, sacking them is not the answer.

Social workers didn't torture Baby P, his mother and friends did.

How about death sentence for the mom and her boyfriend?

Really, sacking the social worker only makes thing worse.

They would've suffered tremendous emotional trauma, that should suffice.

Its a social workers job to NOT mind their own business.

They should lose their job, but not face any more severe punishment IMO. Especially if the kid was in shitty condition prior to his or her death.

See, this is what makes me want to explode.

Why does a horrible crime mean that it's then ok to do a horrible crime? Why is being as bad as the criminals seen as a credible solution?

Everyone needs to stop saying "OH MY GOD! DEATH PENALTY!".

The social workers should be sacked, end of story.

But not the 3 adults who tortured the poor baby. I read an article that the mum actually got to join a halloween party in prison etc.Just makes my blood boil.

And instead of taking care of the baby, the mother was actually online everyday looking for men. There's tons of articles about the mum, you guys should go read up. argh.

this reminds me of the recent case where a 21yo mother had given birth to her child at her own home alone, and she had met some problems the baby had died finally andshe put the baby in a storehouse from the scouts to bury the baby later

they found the dead baby before she got the chance to bury him (or her, dont know) and reported it

she had hid her pregnancy and after they had interrogated her she was sent to a mental institution

dont remember if they are going to jail her, probably not though as she did not want to kill the baby

anyways, the social workers dont deserve to be sacked and neither to keep the job
they should retrain them and put them on light cases for a couple of months

I should update this but all my effort went into writing this lousy excuse.

I live in the United Kingdom, and coverage of this case has been insane. An investigation has been launched and OFSTED are publishing reports detailing the state of social care in Britain.

If you did some real research, you'd know that social workers, carers and even the police visited the child's home and living conditions.

Should we sack the police aswell? Hold everyone who ever reported on Baby P accountable for his death? His death was a catalogue of mistakes made by a number of different agencies, but they are not to blame for what happened.

It was a tragedy, but careworkers across the UK are getting an intense amount of bad press for a murder they didn't commit.

They did not kill the baby, but some responsibility must be taken by them, right?

Are the workers and police who neglected the actual fact in the right mind to continue their work in the first place?

Sacking them might actually help them in some sense. Just suggesting, but they cannot say that they played no part in the tragedy. I would be feeling damn bad now if im one of the workers and will most probably resign instead of defending it wasnt my fault, when it obviously was a grave mistake made on my part.

they would be classified under "heartless" if they insist they did nothing wrong and feel no remorse, don't you think so ?

Yea, once again, people with grudges and vindictiveness...

No person is going to benefit from any outcome from this, so basically I am not interested.
Is anyone free to illustrate to me how and which people can be helped by this?
Setting examples is not an option, we are not living in a world governed by kids who need to be "lead" into some direction by showing them what is right and wrong.

Yes, so what? Would you prefer she attend a Halloween party outside of prison?

Your problem is that you don't want justice, you want these people dead, and thus your opinion isn't credible.

If it was a relative of this baby, I could understand them wanting the people dead, or tortured, or whatever. Even if I disagree, I could understand. What I don't get is that whenever something like this happens, especially (Maybe ONLY) to a child, every discards any sense of rationality and logic for the sake of being furious.

What makes ME angry is that it's absolutely nothing to do with...anyone. There's probably a baby being killed or tortured as I type this, and if the press never tell you, you'll never care, and neither will they.

Either care about everything or care about nothing, with regards to this sort of thing. Preferably nothing, considering it's nobody's business.

The people who get so violently furious about these things scare me more than the people doing them.

man its like a crime to have our own different views nowadays.

i hope the parents gets hanged, you don't, im cool. I just don't like how ppl treat their own flesh and blood like disposable waste.
You do realise the extreme hypocritical aura of that statement, yes?

    How's that for fair?
i believe the police officers involved in this case visited them several times over a period, not just once.
