Good thing I have natural Asian hair, I wonder what it's like to have Non-straight hair. People make such a big deal out of it, a few of my friends(non-asian) straighten their hair sometimes. Anyways glad to see your still well and alive.

lol I have a friend whos mixed white/black and has an afro. Terrible afro tho, the afro splits in half from the middle and the left side hangs to the left and the right side hangs to the right. He needs to comb that stuff up with a pick.

Use a straightening protection spray before using the straightener and you should be fine whatever straightener you use. I use a professional platinum conair one.

Alsooo, a little tip I got from a friend ages ago, and even if its kinda funny.. IT WORKS!! Rub a bounce sheet (or whatever dryer sheet) on your hair.. the static goes away.

You should be able to find hairspray that is suited for working with heat-treated hair at your local drugstore. I don't use it, but chances are that they're made so that they don't stick.

The type of hair straightener you seek does not exist.

it just comes down to the quality of the straightener, a cheap one, with the metal plate(or aluminum, or the other cheap shit they use) wont work all that well unless you use hairspray, or go at it very, very slowly.

You want one with ceramic plates. Bad news though, most of those(the good ones, at least) are in the 100+ price range. There worth it though, if you ask me, fully heats up in about 10-15 seconds, and does a wonderfull job.

couple tips if you're somewhat new at straightening:

-tie your hair up, and do it layer by layer of hair, dont just try to grab a
chunk and straighten it, it will give it a really gross dry, frizzy look.

-Try not to straighten EVRY day, i recomend evry other day, or so, to prevent your hair from getting to frizzy.

-Condition your hair often, it will straighten alot faster, and look alot better.

-Always start from the roots. wait a second or two at the roots before sliding it down, does a big diference.

-Avoid using hairspray, or other chemicals when straightening, even though it makes things easyer, it damages the hair ALOT more then just using heat.

i think this should cover almost evrything =]
