    Default MMORPGS too limited?

    -random rant of the moment-
I just started thinking after getting bored and being bored from MMORPGs for while, their too limited... Shouldn't they add more features to them other then (jump, click, press skill key) I know WASD controls helped this alot, it made it feel more free like your controlling the character, but what I'm trying to get at here is mostly the combat system. In most MMORPGS I felt like PVP took little to no skill at all, and it was just spamming skills, and PVE was just clicking the monster and waiting for your attacks to happen.
Wouldn't it feel better to actually swing your own sword, or to shoot your own arrow? I know you swing your sword when you click the monster, but I'm talking about actually control it, something like
(you click[hold], and move your mouse sideways, your sword swings. For Archer you click[hold] drag your mouse back and as your dragging it back your character pulls the bow string back:::: I thought this might be too hard to do so this is the other theory:::: You click, your sword swings, you click again consecutively and it swings differently to cause a series of attacks, same with archer)

Now for skills, I know most games have a 'press a key and the skill casts' system. Trying to rethink a different way to use skills is hard as this is pretty much right, but what about this.
(You hit the button for the skill, the skill allocates in a slot showing your can use it now, then you use the mouse to execute it. Something similar to my earlier method, click(hold) swing mouse, or the other way I mentioned.)
But that doesn't sound right for skills, I don't know lol but one thing that really ticks me off about skills in most games, and durring the PVP of those games is that you just have to press the damn button and it's done. There should be some strategy involved where you have to either A: Aim the skill at the guy or B: get close enough to him to use it. I've seen many MMORPGS where the guys right in front, the person uses the skill as the guys running away (suppose to be a close up skill) and he's well far away by now and boom he gets hit. also where you just stand there shooting skills back and forth not walking.

And here's just a little list of stuff that I think would make MMORPGS a bit more fun, and maybe more competitive PVP side:

[Sprint key: like in FPS's, hold shift while running you run faster (would also allow longer jumps)]

[Dashing: you could enable this by double tap wasd and it gives you a dash (heck, that would make most games alot more competitive)]

    [Flying: hi aion]

[A skill system where you actually have to be within a range, and aim it.
I don't know if theres any MMORPGS that do this, but I thought it would be a good idea.]

I dunno if there's any MMORPGS out there like this.

There, my spurge of the moment rant is over, got it out of my system now I can go eat some leftover turkey.

We all agree with you here, and I know your suggestions sound cool and all... but I don't think we can do anything about it.

If you want real results, you should be forwarding these to MMO game developers.

i really like your thoughts and it would be awesome to see such systems in mmorpgs. but as you've already said, the controls would be insanely difficult.

also, it would be very annoying when you're grinding. imagine a good 2-3H session of farming/grinding if you have to shoot arrows/swing your sword with a mouse movement.

if there is really a perfect mmorpg out there, developers would be out of business... they got to keep some concepts for future products and not lump all ideas into one mmo...

Maybe one day it'll all be lumped into one mmo you never know, as for your suggestion we all can relate to your thoughts on this.

It's weird that we don't see such changes happening, the online games market is huge and they could earn allot of money with it, so why not ?
