I personally think this step is a wise move. The banning part, kind a bit too much. Only time I see a ban happening, is when filters are being worked around. We have an example of that in this post.

As for GodsWar, its a fun game, but the in game bot is kinda too much since leveling has been made really easy to start with. Just do all your quests. That includes the daily quests.

think of it this way:
We allow those sites to be linked, so someone goes there and says "Hi! I'm from OnRPG!" and gets banned.
Now they come back here and start flaming everyone because they had no idea what would happen.

See , your arguement just lost every valid point it had this site is on the internet , I dont use ONRPG I use the forums , Im posting about and on the FORUMS , not a buisness nor am I talking about the profit or income of thus site.
I disagree with the fact they follow the same structure of another "Buisness" as you would call it , that takes competition to far. On top of the fact I highly doubt they'd lose any profit from allowing others to view thuis sites , its just a pointless way to stop promotion of a site that they are competing with , when truely there is no competition its sad.

Quote the article's content then just put down the name of the site you cited and everyone will understand. ;/ Not a big deal at all, and certainly not anything someone with a brain that functions normally would argue about.
