there trying to make it illegal to feed homeless people in parks in las vegas LOL if anyone has been outside the strip in vegas you will see trash and homeless people everywhere this is one of the funneist laws i ever seen reminds me of this other law here like obstructing the flight of a pigeon is illegal and something about hamburger buns comeing off ??

be it drugs, alcohol
And should be able to get out of it themselves.
Like I said, 2 of my uncles and 1 or my aunts were on welfare (one of the uncles was homeless for a while)
and were able to turn their lives around.

Okay, you know what? I do appreciat it when people understand what I'm trying to say(instead of focusing on one comment that I went overboard on and admitted that). I have no problems with people who are willing to turn their lives around for the better, infact I commend them for accepting their mistakes and doing something about it. Instead of running around with a sign saying ''Please give food'', which I have infact seen. But I stick with what I said befor, if anyone here truly cares they would do something(ANYTHING) about it.

Im not heartless. But some are mentally ill. But they have to be on the streets for some reason. Some were proboly thrown out by parents. But they could have gotten an education and be succesful. Also, You see homeless people holding cardboard asking for money. Where does most of this money go? Liquor. So why feel bad for them, when they act stupid

yeah but there are many different kinds of homeless people and they pretty much are different depending on what city or a town you are in... the homeless dudes in big cities most of the time sell drugs and got lots of money and get free meals from homeless shelters.

Actually I never said I would let a starving man who is literally a few feet away from me go without, but I wouldn't just ''give'' the food to him. I would ask if he wanted it first, I also wouldn't be announcing it to anyone because it's not a good thing to do. Giving them food for nothing may result in them thinking they don't need to make their lives better. They may end up thinking they can get a ''freeride'' from everyone, remember the old saying ''Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day, teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.'', do you even partially understand what I'm saying?

I contribute as mush as I can. Homeless people come to my house every week. We give them whole meals, clothes, money. Some of them are mute and deaf, more reasons why they can't pull through. I'll just stop "making you the bad guy" if that's what you want. You just can't see the fact that they are unable to do what you say. It's easier to say it than to do it.

Sorry I'm not ever going to do something like that, I was thinking more on the lines of ''If I give you this sandwitch you have to go to that store over there and ask them if they would be willing to hire you. If they say maybe, then you get the sandwitch. If they say no, your go to the next store and ask them.''
Also BoundByHonour, I highly doubt that however if it is true then I take back what I said. However I still believe it is giving them a freeride. OH and to that ''easier to say then do'', well that is a DUH, but if a person truly tries and DOESN'T give up they just might make it.

I tried to give a begging homeless guy some food once, but he threw it back at me saying he wanted money...
Still, it feels good to help them out if you have some spare change or something. Of course most of them will just go buy drugs and booze, but at least it makes them happy.
