Thank god I have a DS. Looks awesomelicious :]
Reputation: 17I'm very interested in what's going on with the plot.
The most I know is that it's taking place on Earth. I swear, the Alliance of Nations can not keep a planet hospitable.
DLC would be nice, and very possible to do, and if its key feature is online play, I think it would work.
If your card got full it could ask you to clear some previous DLC for those using the standard game card.
As for me, upon the Japanese release I think I'll get it on my cyclo card and have some fun... and to see if its compatible, if not or I like it so much I feel the need to I'll buy it.
Reputation: 13finally something that means for me to pick my DS up again besides for Pokemon and Final Fantasy!
Enjoy the downgrade, I'm gonna play Phantasy Star Portable o_o
Reputation: 18I mean compatible with my flash card, in case you didn't get that, if you did I just miss interpreted what you said. Saves me the £30-ish it would cost as I
can play on my DS from roms. But if its good, I'll buy the official game...
Ah but its not PSU or any relation to that (apparently). So it wouldn't be a downgrade, but a new game.
... I feel like downloading PSOBB now...

Reputation: 17Yeah, I misread your post. I suppose it all depends on the roms, in that case.
I mean, if you enjoy it, might as well wait for the English release. I recall someone posting info about it being in February, or something to that affect.
And were you referring to Phantasy Star Portable being a port or PS0? I was wrong to call PSP a port, but it is directly based around PSU.
And no, PS0 is definetely not a downgrade, I'm fully with you on that. It's a return to the aspects that made PSO brilliant in the first place.
On a final note, if you do end up grabbing Blue Burst, lemme know. I'd love to help you out, if you're having to create a new character.
I was referring to PSP being designed around PSU. Thats about all I know as I've never played PSP so I can't make any further judgement on it.
I never did play PSO or BB, so I'll run with it now I'm in the mood. I won't get time to play it tonight but I'll start the DL and probably be on some time tomorrow.
Except the monster hunter series has never shot itself in the face with the release of a game on the pc/360 that was relatively lackluster. Maybe the game will be good, maybe it won't. It all depends on Sega and if they actually work good into this game as opposed to it feeling half done.

Reputation: 18naw well. At least it has the core connection methods.
I felt the need to post this

ima get it when it comes out![]()
Reputation: 29If you're referring to Phantasy Star Portable, I hope you realize that game is actually quite good. It improves upon Phantasy Star Universe in most aspects.
(Increased drop rate, synthesis removed, more items, improved classes, a good story [from what I've heard], constant mission updates, and more.)
Reputation: 18True, but it doesn't make up for the fact that the game is still a TERRIBLE time sink, has un-immersive atmosphere, and an even more generic storyline then PSO (game's story was ported straight from PSU's expansion).
Also:
All sources clearly state that Phantasy Star Portable has no online play. That means you must "tunnel" your PSP through Ad-hoc with 3rd party program (Like Wifi Max) to play online. That's a of wasted time (and money)
Reputation: 29Sorry, but have you even played PSP before? You seem to be extrapolating information from your PSU experience to describe PSP (and throwing in some facts you read online). Phantasy Star Portable is by no means perfect, and perhaps not even better than PSO, but it is definitely a step up from PSU.
Terrible time sink: It doesn't take long to level, earn money, or collect items. I'm not sure what you're talking about here.
Un-immersive atmosphere: That comes down to personal taste. I don't find the game to be particularly immersive, but I didn't find PSO to be any more immersive.
Storyline: Actually, the story is completely unique to Phantasy Star Portable. It takes place between Episode 1 (PSU Offline) and Episode 2 (PSU Online, AoTI Offline).
You are correct about online play, though. PS0 is definitely superior in that aspect.
P.S. I respect your opinion about the game, but I find it unfair to others if you start spreading misinformation. =)
