The main drag is the speed, but that could be worse (WindowsMediaPlayer).

@OP: I would suggest just try out winamp.

If you like it better, you probably are not the itunes-type of person.
yeaah whats up with these companys thinking we want some fancy audio player..i mean its cool for the first few times but thats it.

then just use it to sync your ipod.

i personally think iTunes is great. it's my most used application, it isn't slow. Perhaps if you were organized with your music everything would be simple to find.

Just use another player, like Winamp, and just use iTunes for syncing your iPod.

I like itunes also. i had loads of already downloaded music so i just made a folder on my desktop and put them all in there. so whenever i download new music it goes into that folder then i import the whole folder again since it doesnt reimport the ones it had already

    Solution:
    Download from LimeWire/Torrents/Whatever.
Use iTunes just for loading songs onto your iPod.
For listening while on the computer, get foobar2000.
fb2k > pretty much all players
    For video, use VLC player.

Winamp is fully able to load your music onto your ipod. And they don't have that shitty store always in your face.

    Get Winamp.

And for your computers sake, stop ****ing using Limewire. That is like putting your computer in a room full of viruses and saying "don't sexually assault my computer while I take off my security and leave the room for 3 hours to take an extra long shower".

The only problem I have with iTunes is that you can't minimize so it won't be on your taskbar.

i used to use limewire until i realized how selfish it was to be stealing mp3's so i just buy CD's and mp3's off of iTunes or at the store.

yet you only get viruses off of LW if you're incredibly stupid. "FREE XXX PORN LESBIAN BUTT SECKZ Wonderwall - Oasis TORRENTZ MYSPACE WEATHER CHANNEL FACEBOOK"

why would anyone with half a brain download that?

    iTunes is Hell-ing excellent.

I have had no issues with it and sort of don't see why anyone would, unless you are a reverse Midas of such epic proportions.

Personally I have a problem finding ANY media player that works for me.

I'm using my laptop, which works off the wireless. All of my music is stored on a server downstairs that is plugged into my router. When I stream the music, I can stream 2 or 3 songs perfectly, and then it starts skipping all over the freakin' place. I've tried adjusting the buffer, but it won't work for me.

WinAMP is the one that allows me to get the longest play before it breaks, so I choose that. I really wish I had other options, but even my best option is a shitty one

I could just run a cable up the stairs again, but thats a pain in the *** and looks ugly.
