Vegeta as well as the Super Saiyan power did not appear until Dragon Ball Z.

Also, Bulma used rocket launchers and small fire arms in the original series.

Surely "Evolution" is a sequel title, if this is supposed to be the beginning of the story it sounds weird putting a word that implies the development of something.
