I'm usually laughing at how much my friends suck at games to pay attention to the music. I tried muting guitar hero once, didn't turn out so well.

I play the game 'Super Smash Brawl Bros' or whatever it is, I just ignore to the music/sounds and play the game.. thats so simple. If you don't like the music/sounds, just turn any kind of speakers off.
Theres your simple answer.

Reputation: 482ok...that's not the point of the thread. I used Super Smash Bros Brawl as an example. I don't have a problem with the music...I like the music, just not all the time. I like fighting to other songs everyone once in a while. There are a number of song i like that match the background for final destination, my favorite stage. I also sometimes play music for disgaea and other ps2 games
The actual question was however "do you listen to your own music when you play console games?" Just wondering if people get tired of listening to ANY game's music once in a while and played their own. I'm incredibly aware that you can simply use the mute feature on the tv to cancel out all sound...I'm asking if people like to switch it up and use their own. I don't have an xbox so I can't play music off the hard drive, so I was wondering if people used an external unit to provide the music such as an iPod.
