Metal Gear Solid Touch(iPhone) Confirmed

Metal Gear Solid for the iPhone has been confirmed. It's called Metal Gear Solid Touch and will be based on the characters and story from Metal Gear Solid 4. There will be eight levels included in the release, with more levels to be added later on. Controls will be based on the touch screen (duh), and players will be able to unlock images and wallpapers with points earned from the game. Metal Gear Solid Touch will be out worldwide in the Spring of 2009.

Konami has also announced three other major franchises coming to the iPhone:

* Frogger: It's Frogger.
* Dance Dance Revolution S Lite: It's a game designed for people's feet, but now for your thumbs.
* Silent Hill: The Escape: Port of a year-old cell phone game.

All three of these games will be out worldwide by the end of December. Some screens have been released on all the games, which you can check out in the gallery above. There's no word yet on pricing, but keep an eye out on Touch.Konami for that and other details on all of these games.

iPhone owners, are you excited for any of these games? Metal Gear Solid Touch looks really impressive. Hopefully it won't have any four-hour cut-scenes, as that would totally kill the unit's battery life.

I asked what the website meant, I didn't assume nor get my hopes up that MGS would arrive on the Xbox.

Quite frankly, I don't care. I wouldn't buy it even if it did. The series got old with Sons of Liberty.

meaningless dialogue and cutscenes?? the games dialogue and cutscenes were all epic...mgs4 has the most epic storyline yet out of any next gen game...only game coming close to it is uncharted: drakes fortune.....something we need now is more games with story not some stupid shooters with no story

Uh, I'd say its pretty even right now. we got the main games that came out with the big stories, and then the little ones with all the action. I'd say its balanced right now.

What I'd like to see is a game with a big story, + interactive cutscenes.

Now that'd be bomb.
